RaceChrono: import your sessions into Brake Point
Already timing your track days with RaceChrono? Export your sessions to CSV and import them into Brake Point for turn-by-turn analysis and AI coaching.
RaceChrono is one of the most widely used GPS lap-timing apps on track. It runs on your phone, records your laps, speed and lean angle, and costs nothing to get started. In short, you already have good data in hand.
Good news: Brake Point now imports your RaceChrono exports. Keep the app for real-time timing, and add detailed analysis once you are back in the pits.
What you get
Once your export is imported, your session is analysed turn by turn:
- Your laps, detected in the right place: Brake Point uses RaceChrono’s native lap markers, the ones from the start/finish line you set in the app. No approximate detection.
- Speed and track map from GPS.
- Lean angle, measured by your phone’s inertial sensors.
- Longitudinal and lateral acceleration (braking, drive, cornering load).
Everything overlays with your other sessions so you can compare laps, track your progress and get advice from BudAI, our AI coach.
An honest note
RaceChrono records GPS and your phone’s sensors. Without a connected engine unit, the export has no RPM, gear, throttle or brake: you get clean GPS and inertial telemetry (laps, speed, lean, G), but not the channels of a system wired to the bike’s electronics. That is why RaceChrono support is marked experimental.
We validated the import on real sessions at Val de Vienne, Magny-Cours and Le Mans: lap times land to the millisecond on RaceChrono’s own markers.
How to import
- In RaceChrono, open your session and export it to CSV (Format 3)
- Go to app.brakepoint.io
- Click Import a session and select your
.csvfile
The full walkthrough is in the RaceChrono import guide. Both separator variants (comma or semicolon) import with no setup.
Exporting a
.vboinstead? Brake Point reads that too. Native.rczarchive import, with sectors, is coming soon.
