Pilot Guide — Coach Access
You control who sees your data. Always.
How it works
Brake Point uses a consent-based model for coach access. No one can see your telemetry data without your explicit approval.
Here's the flow:
- Your coach sends you an access request from their Brake Point account
- You receive an email notification with a link to your Settings
- You approve or reject the request
- If approved, the coach can view your session data and track your progression
Create your free account
Before your coach can find you, you need a Brake Point account.
- Go to app.brakepoint.io
- Create an account with the same email your coach knows — they'll search for you by name or email
- The free plan is all you need — no paid subscription required
Tip: Use the name and email your coach has on file. This makes it easier for them to find you in the search.
Approve or reject a request
When a coach requests access, you'll receive an email. You can also check your pending requests at any time:
- Log in to app.brakepoint.io
- Go to Settings
- Find the Coach Access Requests section
- You'll see the coach's name, email, and when they sent the request
- Click Approve to grant access, or Reject to decline
Approve
The coach can view your session data, lap times, and progression. They cannot modify or delete anything.
Reject
The coach is notified. They can send a new request later if needed. No data is shared.
Manage approved coaches
Below the pending requests, you'll find the Approved Coaches section. It shows all coaches who currently have access to your data, along with the date access was granted.
To remove a coach's access:
- Click Revoke Access next to the coach's name
- Confirm in the dialog that appears
- The coach immediately loses access to your session data

Coaches can view
- Your sessions and lap times
- Track maps and telemetry charts
- Your progression over time
- BudAI analysis reports
Coaches cannot
- Edit or delete your sessions
- Upload data on your behalf
- Access your account settings
- See your billing or personal info
Frequently asked questions
Can I revoke access later?
Yes, at any time. Go to Settings > Approved Coaches and click "Revoke Access". The coach immediately loses access to all your data.
What happens if I reject a request?
The coach is notified that you declined. No data is shared. They can send a new request later if it was a misunderstanding.
Can I have multiple coaches?
Yes. You can approve access for multiple coaches. Each one sees your data independently.
Do I need a paid plan?
No. The free plan is sufficient for your coach to view your data. You only need a paid plan if you want additional features like more BudAI analyses or extra storage.
What do I need to do after approving?
Just upload your telemetry files as usual. Your coach automatically sees your sessions in their Coach Dashboard.
